Oil filter change in the 3L V6?

The new 3L V6 appears to have a conventional, can-type oil filter instead of the cartridge-type oil filters used on the 3.6L non-DI and DI engines.

The hat is black cotton with white lettering. It is darker than the photo (due to the flash) and is cotton, (not denim).
